Russian min says govt can sell key assets on market
NAIROBI, Dec 18 (PRIME) -- The Russian government can float stakes in strategic assets, including Rosneft, Aeroflot, Sovcomflot and ALROSA on the market, Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev told reporters Friday.
“In this case it is crucial for us to receive a conceptual (government) decision. Most probably, in the majority of cases it will be a sale of shares on an open market. But I do not want to rule out any scenario,” Ulyukayev said.
He said that publicly traded state companies are most ready for privatization. The “fiscal situation,” the market share of a privatized company and the need for state control reduction will also be important factors of the future privatization decisions, the minister said.
